WANTED: Your Frugal Tips!
May 23, 2008
The deadline has been extended to May 30th!
The special HEAV convention edition of A Lady in Waiting is shaping up to be a great issue, but I still need your help! If you have an frugal idea you’d like to share, please send it my way (rebekah@aladyinwaiting.com).
Wondering what sort of ideas we need? Think along the lines of cutting dryer sheets in half, using old t-shirts as cleaning rags, and using stockings with runs in them to tie up your tomato plants or rose bushes.
Remember - at the beginning of June I’ll be holding a random drawing and will select one frugal ideas contributor to receive the book of her choice, either Seasons of a Mother’s Heart by Sally Clarkson, or His Chosen Bride by Jennifer Lamp. Frugal living ideas need to be received by May 30th.

Cooking ahead is my best tip. Anytime you are making a long cooking sauce or soup from scratch, you should make sure all four burners are going, soup, sauce, chili, pasta, etc. By the end of the night, you have 4 (maybe
meals, some for the next few days, some for the freezer. Saves money, saves time. By looking at the current fliers, and choosing the in season or on sale items, you can save even more.
Most important - label and date everything that goes in the freezer. You don’t want to take out spaghetti sauce, but find out it’s soup.

You can mix up to 1 cup of oatmeal into ground chuck/round to stretch it out farther. You can’t notice a taste difference or anything.
Yummy!
